WHY IS THE HOLY SPIRIT INHIBITED IN OUR CHURCHES?
Even in the Charismatic and Pentecostal churches (in spite of their claims to the contrary)
I have received a prophecy concerning the New Life Church in Colorado Springs dealing with the issues around their treatment of the Haggard family, injustices to other staff members, and lies that were told to the congregation by certain of the leadership.
I have updated My Christian Life testimony to include my comments
on that deception called the Shepherding/Discipling movement
which has damaged many good believers.
The Shepherding movements which has affected may Charismatic churches is one
where believers are required to be under a "covering" of pastors, elders, and housegroup leaders.
What this has done is to move believers' dependence away from Christ,
and onto mortal men and women.
The Scripture does not teach this at all.
True pastoral care is advisory, not authorative.
The requirement that believers come under a "covering" of authority is a lie!
The role of genuine pastors and leaders is to increase your faith and dependence on Christ,
Not to take over the Holy Spirits role and exercise authority over the way you live your life.
If you sense that this is happening to you, see a good pastor or counsellor outside of your church,
to get a better appreciation of what the Scripture teaches about how we fellowship with pastors and leaders in our churches.
